LEDs last longer and stay brighter than HID lamps
HID lamps are advertised as having 100 lumens/watt or higher, but losses from trapped light and inefficient operating temperatures results in 20% less lumens per watt after just 8,000 hours. In comparison, LED lights have 100 lumens/watt or higher, and because there are zero losses from trapped light, they will continue to operate at nearly 100%.
LEDs have a Color Rendering Index of 92
The Color Rendering Index (CRI) is the ability of a light source to reproduce the colors of an object in comparison to a natural light source. You may notice how fluorescent light seems yellow, dull and unflattering — that’s because a florescent’s CRI falls between 60 and 70. LED lights have a much higher CRI, mimicking the sun’s bright, white light and giving your inventory brighter shine and more vivid color.
