2015 Vehicle Sales Are Going To Be Legendary

Remember when we said that May 2015 was going to be big for vehicle sales? We were wrong. It was HUGE. According to Automotive News, May’s seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) hit a record breaking 17.78 million, the highest it’s been since July 2005.

Due to an extremely promising first half of the year, a consistently strong economy, and the fact that the average age of U.S. vehicles is over 11 years old, NADA has changed their 2015 vehicle sales SAAR forecast from 16.94 million to 17.17 million, meaning that dealers can expect the sales rate to continue at 17.17 million for the rest of 2015.

Here are 3 things your dealership can do to take advantage of the next wave of jaw-dropping numbers this year:

1. Change Up Your Creative. Then Change It Again. And Again.

47% of shoppers prefer to shop online and 81% browse online before going to the store. This means that your first interaction with a customer is likely going to be on your website, which makes having engaging and relevant website content exceedingly important.

Always be sure to incorporate holiday-themed or sales event graphics into your dealership’s website banner sliders, retargeting ads, and landing pages to create a consistent sense of urgency.

Failing to stay up-to-date with your creative, like displaying 4th of July banners during September, not only looks careless but can also fool your prospects about what deals are available, ultimately discrediting your dealership. Remember to schedule reminders to take down and replace anything time-sensitive as soon as the deadline passes.
