Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant will oversee full-cycle accounting and billing, account and order processing, and Accounts Receivables.

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Staff Accountant oversees the company’s full-cycle accounting and billing, account and order processing, and Accounts Receivables. This candidate will have corporate accounting experience including assisting in the month-end close process, journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and analyzing variances. Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for transaction coding, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, assistance with audits, A/P, A/R, invoicing, compliance, and preparing financial statements. The Senior Staff Accountant manages billing records and is responsible for the ongoing creation, production, and maintenance of full-cycle billing, billing-related financial reports, and all billing transactions, postings, reconciliation, review, prep, and periodic audits. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a large role in formulating billing-related reports and communication to connect all impacted internal departments regarding customers and their financial status.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a documented system of billing and transactional policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over billing transactions to minimize risk
  • Process all billing-related transactions on various billing schedules successfully on their respective due dates.
  • Complete billing-related reporting and updates for various departments and purposes. These reports are to be maintained and updated after each billing cycle.
  • Communicate all billing errors and challenges to management and related departments to ensure timely payments and successful processing of transactions.
  • Conduct financial analysis as needed as well as trend analysis, and monitor/report sales activity.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by the Controller.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
  • Maintain chart of account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Assist Management and Controller with daily, monthly, and yearly tasks.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
  • Maintain various accounting reports tracking required metrics for various departments.
  • Assist with operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Suggest solutions and innovative ideas that meet client/employee or management needs
  • Handle complaints, questions, and problems in a timely and effective manner
  • Act as the liaison between staff and senior management for financial/billing concerns

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • Three to Five years or more of related experience
    • Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficient in accounting software – QuickBooks
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel Pivot Tables.
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Proficient in accounting, billing, and order-to-cash transactional processing.
    • Ability to build strong team member relationships
    • Ability to understand, produce, and communicate reports and metrics
    • Goal-driven and self-motivated team player with a passion for learning
